Designers for the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulf location, approached Hratch when they were redecorating. They wanted to replace their rugs in their hallways, lobbies and rooms with a cost-effective, durable, low maintenance, elegant solution featuring Ritz-Carlton’s gold and blue colors.

He sent photos to help the designer narrow down different style and color combinations. Exchanges include decisions such as how much percent of each color should the design include.

Hratch designed and oversaw the manufacturing of approximately 43 new, custom area rugs for the rooms and enough more to cover 16,000 square feet of hallways. After completion of the successful job, he was commissioned to do a similar project for another of the hotel chain’s locations.

For the peacock motif in the Ritz Carlton’s custom rugs, Hratch was inspired by a drawing from a 13th Century manuscript. The photos below reveal how he incorporated the peacock into the final design.
